Everyone’s going crazy with the modish portable hot tubs today. You can find images of families doing their fun and leisure times enjoying every plunge from hot tubs. You can only see faces with smiles and excitement, fun and entertainment. Hot tubs are considered to be one of the best amusements that best suits an entire family or even a group of friends at the comfort of one’s home. Today you will never worry about accidents or whatsoever especially for young children who love to soak and play frisky in hot tubs. All pools, spas, Jacuzzi or portable hot tubs are all made in compliance with the law that mandates all owners and manufacturers to follow certain safety standards to prevent series of accidents.

Years ago spas and hot tubs were associated with safety issues after the tragic incident of deaths happened in some spas with regards to the suction drain. Among those tragic incidents including entrapment of body parts from hands, feet and even hair entanglement are the usual complaints wherein children in particular have become the most numbered victims in different places.

It is obviously a common sense to take good care and save a child’s life at any cost. Adult should never, in any cases, leave a child unsupervised in hot tubs nor let them be attended by the same young kids on portable hot tubs. Portable hot tubs may not be as huge as swimming pools but it is no reason for adults to leave them unattended. There are many instances where parents and guardians overlooked this simple yet important safety precaution. Of course there are kids who are born as frolic and a glimpse of not watching them may cause trouble. Accidents occur in times we least expect it. However the modern portable hot tubs and spas have different choices of accessories and devices today to make hot tubs safer for our young ones.

Use Drain Covers

Drain covers are part of the Safety Act for hot tubs. It is mandated under the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act to have all pools, spas and hot tubs utilize drain covers. The covers will prevent what has been the common problems spas and hot tubs used to have before. Suctions on drain can have high pressures to suck any body parts that can lead to drowning that is why covers are made for the benefits of the users particularly the children.

Use Hot Tub Covers

Portable hot tubs outdoors are very inviting for kids. When they’re on playtime at your deck or patio where your hot tubs are located, chances are they will most likely plunge themselves in. So it is very important to have cover for your portable hot tubs. Aside from keeping your children safe, you keep your pets away from drowning as well. You can also use net as covers to prevent any debris to sink in your tubs but it is more recommendable to use hard covers to avoid accidents.

Use Hot Tub Fence and Steps

It is also a preventive measure to place a fence around your hot tubs. When your portable hot tubs are not in use, all you can do is lock the fence and drive the children away from it keeping the safe instead of plunging without any adult supervision. You can also add up some steps to prevent kids from falling when they’re with you soaking and trying to get in and out the hot tubs.

Spending some quality time with your kids on portable hot tubs are great moments to spend some leisure times. However prevention is always better than cure as what most people say. Adhere to what the law dictates and make sure you buy those that are compliance with the VGB Act to enjoy a quality time with your kids that is safe and secure.
