Golf great Tiger Woods has officially ended his six-year marriage. The world's No. 1 golfer and his Swedish model wife Elin Nordegren finalized their divorce Monday in a Florida court, according to multiple tabloid reports. Speculations of a possible Elin-Tiger divorce had been rife ever since the eruption of Tiger's sex scandal when one woman after another stepped forward claiming to have had sex or a fling with the married golfer following his infamous Nov. 27 accident last year. Ever since Elin came to know about his infidelities, it had been commonly assumed that she would soon file for divorce from the golf legend.

Couple sad for broken marriage
Both Tiger, 34, and Elin, 30, were present in court for the divorce decree hearing that lasted only about five or 10 minutes in a conference room. "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," the now former couple said in a joint statement released by their lawyers. According to the divorce documents, obtained by TMZ, Tiger-Elin’s marriage was "irretrievably broken" and the pair reached a settlement agreement back at the beginning of July -- July 3rd and 4th.

Woods’ divorce finalized
Now, as speculated, Tiger’s infidelity proved a costly mistake for him. Nine months after the eruption of his infamous sex scandal, the golfing legend finally divorced from his Swedish-born wife, the tabloids report, citing a joint statement issued Monday by their lawyers. The divorce was finalized Monday by Judge Judy Pittman Biebel in Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla. Couple to "share parenting" of their two kids
Tiger and Elin wed in 2004 in Barbados and have a 3-year-old daughter, Sam, and a 19-month-old son, Charlie. It’s being reported that Woods will have the custody of their two children for at least one weekend a month, and possibly for longer periods. The court documents show that Elin will go back to her maiden name: Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren.

Pair undergo a parenting plan for their children
According to UsMagazine.com, both Tiger and Elin have each completed a 4-hour parenting course. "The parenting plan is in the best interests of the children," reports the mag, citing the documents. Terms of settlement still under wraps
While the financial terms of the breakup, or a prenuptial agreement, if the couple had one, are still under wraps, rumors ran rampant that the two have divorced in a deal worth up to half-a-billion dollars. An insider told Us that Elin wanted "more money than Michael Jordan's ex got," referring to the former NBA star's $168 million payout to his ex-wife.
