Many times hot headed youngsters tend to think of themselves alone and their emotions or anger takes over their discrimination. There is no understanding that marriage is in fact a lifelong partnership where there are no winners but only partners. Only when the two partners work and live as one does the marriage succeed. But when one of them or both of them begin to think of Me and Mine alone the problem starts because of lack of partnership. With such an attitude the marriage cannot succeed in the long run.

Sociologists have been analyzing the divorce phenomena for decades and find that with each generation the reasons for divorce are changing. There seems to be a new trend coming through with every generation making divorce the easiest option for people to break away from marriage. Not surprisingly the economic freedom and the empowerment of women is fast becoming one of the prime factors that is making them breakaway from the traditional mode of thinking and head to the divorce courts.Today's women have their own identify and know exactly what they want out of life. Ask any woman, she now values her independence, freedom, identify as well as the quality of life a lot more than anything else. Women are self sufficient in all aspects including social, financial as well as emotional aspects and can manage their life very well alone. Women feel a lot more comfortable being divorced as there is no fear or stigma attached to them since the society has already accepted divorce as a way of life. This gives the women a chance to seek what they want out of their life and lead their life in the way they wish to.

We see a lot of changes in the modern women in terms of their attitude and thinking but is it the same with men too? The equation is just not the same in any marriage now. It is time for men to realise that the expectations of their wives about their husbands as well as themselves and marriage has changed.If in such cases the marriage has to work, men need to realign themselves and re-orient their views and expectations from the marriage and update themselves too. If this happens, the divorce rates might begin to decline.
