Immigration marriage interview questions are something that many married couples hoping to obtain permanent Canadian immigration may need to go through. These are used when one party in a married couple wishes to move in with a partner who lives in Canada but does not have a Candian visa. If they can prove that they are indeed married and living together during these immigration marriage interview questions, then the immigrant partner will normally be granted a Canadian visa so that they can remain in the country with their spouse.
These interview questions can understandably be nerve racking for those in attendance if they have not attended any similar interviews before. Failure to pass the immigration marriage interview questions will often result in the foreign partner being removed from the country and this would mean living apart from their spouse, or forcing both parties to live in a country other than the one they have chosen for their home. However if you are genuinely married and living with your partner then you should find that you have nothing really to worry about and that it is actually relatively very simple to pass these questions. If you are nervous however, then using an immigration attorney, who can talk you through the process and provide you with helpful hints and tips to improve your performance and ensure that you have the correct documentation etc can greatly increase your chances of success.

The main thing to remember when attending immigration marriage interview questions however is that you need to prepare and ensure in advance t have all of the necessary documents and forms ready with you when you go.
The purpose of the questions is to be able to establish that the immigrant and their partner are living together, that they are financially stable and that they are indeed married. In the build up to the interview then, they would be wise to prepare themselves by ensuring that in all documents and forms they are listed as married and to ensure that there are no documents etc that state otherwise. They should also collect information that suggests they are living together – for example things like letters and bills addressed to both them and their partners at the same address and bank accounts etc set up in the same name; and they should ensure that they have many financial records that demonstrate their financial stability and independence. It is a good idea to get an immigration attorney to help find all of these documents and others that can support the cause, and also to help advise you on answering the questions themselves.

When you are called up for your interview, you will normally be given a warning of up to a year before you are required to attend which will give you plenty of time to arrange yourself and to collect the correct documents. Once you attend the actual interview you should be well turned out and you should aim to arrive on time and carrying all of the relevant documents. You should arrive early too to account for any potential queues, and if you are not in your interview on time then you may be turned away.
