And this element is the children of the nation. The future of any nation rests on the shoulders of its children. In the development of children, lies the true development of nation. Today, several children in India live in unhealthy conditions. Many of them, fall prey to easily preventable diseases like Malaria, Pneumonia or Diarrhea. Nearly 7 million children in India suffer from malnutrition. Many others do not have access to basic amenities like water. Apart from this, evils like child labour, child slavery and child trafficking adversely affect the lives of several children in India. In many underprivileged families, children support the overall family income, depriving them of education and respectively a better future. In presence of these circumstances, there is a stark need for several measures that could bring about a positive change in the lives of these children.
Government has taken up several initiatives to provide a better life to the underprivileged children in India. It has been running numerous schemes for the benefit of these children. Along with the government, many independent charity foundations have been working relentlessly for the cause. These charity organizations carry out several activities for the upliftment of underprivileged children in India. They undertake various movements to provide these children with a better future.
These children's charities operate on the contributions received from people. Due to the generosity of such individuals, these organizations are able to conduct health camps, educational classes and other movements that benefit these children.
