Filipina Fiancee Visa Guide - Understanding the K1 Visa

A Filipina fiancee visa is required in order to bring your bride-to-be to the US. With the K1 visa, she will be able to come here from the Philippines. The K1 is a nonimmigrant visa, as it is used for bringing a foreigner to the US for the purpose of marrying an American citizen. Unfortunately, obtaining a K1 visa from the Philippines isn't an easy process; because of this, many individuals seek professional assistance.

Here are some things you need to know about the fiancee visa:

Petition for Alien Fiancée

You will need to fill out certain documents for civil and financial purposes. The Dept. of Homeland Security will have you fill out Form I-129F, which is the Petition for Alien Fiancée. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services are responsible for the petition. If it is approved, Form I-129F is sent to the National Visa Center, where it will be processed; after which, it'll be sent to the embassy where your fiancée will be applying for her K1 visa.

During the K-1 visa process, children under the age of 21 need to be considered. If your fiancee has any children who want to accompany her to the United States, they may eligible for the V-2 visa. Both of these will be processed at the US Embassy in Manila.

K1 Visa Philippines Requirements

There are certain requirements by which you yourself must abide. Firstly, you and your Filipina fiancé must have met in person within the past two years. You must be able to prove that the two of you have met, whether by hotel receipts, photos, passport stamps, and so forth. You must also prove that you are legally able to marry. If you have been married in the past, you must prove that you are divorced or widowed.

Additional Requirements for Obtaining a Philippine Fiancee Visa

All applicants must have all of the appropriate vaccinations for their age and medical condition. These typically include vaccinations for: mumps, polio, tetanus, measles, influenza type B, and rubella. Other vaccinations may include hepatitis B, varicella, and so forth. Applicants for the K1 visa are usually required to go through a medical examination regardless of their age.

You'll be required to have a steady income. You'll have to show evidence that you are financially stable and that you have enough money to support your fiancee. Also, there is a $350 fee that must be paid with the K1 visa application. This is non-refundable and is payable either in US dollars or the peso equivalent. The medical examination costs $213.35 for adults older than fifteen years of age and $185.35 for children under fifteen.

K1 Fiancee Visa Services

Clearly, obtaining a fiancee visa from the Philippines is not an easy process. Many applications are rejected because the applicants aren't 100% sure what is expected of them. For this reason, it's recommended that you obtain the services of Filipina fiancee visa experts so that everything goes smoothly and quickly.
